The Supreme winner, the 5 category winners and the Rising Star Award for the Wellington region for 2017 have been announced.
Wellington Community Trust provided awards totalling $43,500. Further awards were provided by Wellington Airport.

The Virtuoso Strings Charitable Trust programme provides free instruments, tuition, orchestral training and the opportunity to perform and tour. They create a vibrant environment where the youth of Porirua can thrive, realise their immense musical talent, make lifelong friendships, build an enduring sense of self-worth and have a lot of fun.

Health & Wellbeing – Foster Hope Charitable Trust
Foster Hope is a volunteer run charity that supports the more than 1300 children in foster care in Wellington and the Lower North Island. Many children in care arrive with little or no possessions of their own. Foster Hope Wellington make up backpacks containing toiletries and some special extras. These help to ease their way into the new surroundings.

Coastella is a world-class family friendly boutique music festival.

Honorable Mention – Treaty Times Thirty
The Treaty Times 30 project, celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the NZ Society of Translators and Interpreters. 160 volunteer translators collaborated to translate The Treaty of Waitangi into 30 languages plus NZ Sign Language, publishing the translations in a book gifted freely to New Zealanders.
